Lunch Thoughts from Cordoba
In this patio close to the Mezquita in Cordoba, I feel like I’m connected to my Spanish family. Now I know why I felt at home when I was working at Marrakech for the Club Med Hotel in Jemaa El Fan 19 years-ago. It was the first time I was working far from home and I was terrified. The monuments are the same here. Muslim colons were in Spain for 700 years. And my Spanish name « Isla » that I took to celebrate my late grandfather Domingo is very close to the Islam word (or maybe it’s just the word for island lol !). I still don’t get it why the arabic invasion in Spain is seen as positive by many people. Ignorants who say so don’t know what is the Dhimmi & barbaresques pirats I guess, and how many Islamic wars were made compared to the 4 or 5 croisades done to stop that invasion. You should read that book.
The music playing is flamenco of course, and that’s why I’m naturally attracted to the acoustic guitar and this special way of playing it since I’m a child. In my music, I try to mix it with contemporary r&b vocals and drums. I call it urban flamenco.
I’m eating alone, but as you see, with this blog and my job I never have the time to feel lonely. And if you don’t date a digital nomad, you will surely travel alone so get used to it ! The key is to always have goals so your mind is busy. Right now, I’m thinking of having a red wine cave cause that’s a new passion since I travel a lot. Problem is you can’t take bottles in the plane so I will find a website to import them. Any recommandations ? I’m looking for local wines, not the ones you find at the duty free.
A woman just entered the restaurant to sell loto tickets. I see a lot of people playing here. Some people waste 50 euros each month of their lives in order to be a millionaire. It’s sad.
I would recommend them to use this money to invest on Instagram or YouTube ads to promote their website talking about their passion for anything. That’s how you build a community nowadays and start a business.
